The value of freedom is greater than the value of convenience... true freedom, as in the freedom to wake up when you want and be able to freely choose how you spend your time every day, not just on the weekends or your days off. Once experienced, the value of true freedom is far greater than the value of convenience. Consider for a moment the fact that if you had the freedom to plan your day however your wanted, your life would probable look much differently. What would be convenient for you would also change. Driving 20 minutes to the nearest grocery store would seem very inconvenient if you were also working 40+ hours a week, but if you didn't have to work, 20 minutes away might seem like a good excuse to get out and go do something. Living in an expensive area just because we want to be close to things and near stuff we like to do, means that you will be working more and giving up more of your freedom to afford that lifestyle. Changing your mindset to accept being uncomfortable

Lolo's Chicken and Waffles - Phoenix, AZ

Lolo's is a very popular restaurant in Arizona, riding the success of chicken and waffle places like Roscoe's in California. They serve breakfast all day and have many great lunch and dinner options in family and individual sizes.  The atmosphere is usually friendly and relaxed with music in the background and sports on the TV. Consider ordering it to go, when the restaurant is packed, but be warned that everything is better if you eat it when is fresh and right out of the kitchen. Outside seating options are also available on a shaded patio out front. The prices are a little high so be prepared, but the portions usually make up for it.

I ordered the Phat Azz Samich with chicken, but it also comes with catfish as an option. The portions are very generous and the fried chicken was crispy and juicy with great flavor. As a side I got the fries which were seasoned similar to cajun style and were amazing, I couldn't get enough. In the past I have also tried the fried catfish which was perfectly prepared and as good as I have had anywhere. Everything is fried to perfection and well seasoned, although be prepared for a little spice in some of the dishes. There are lots of southern classics and all are well executed with recipes that remain consistent.

I definitely recommend Lolo's to get your fried food fix and have never been disappointed. Be prepared to wait, as it can get busy and good food takes awhile to prepare. The staff as always been very friendly and helpful and is happy to answer your questions. Parking in the lot can be limited especially during busy hours, so you may have to park around the corner and walk, but usually not very far. If you are an AZ local and haven't been to Lolo's your missing out.
