The value of freedom is greater than the value of convenience... true freedom, as in the freedom to wake up when you want and be able to freely choose how you spend your time every day, not just on the weekends or your days off. Once experienced, the value of true freedom is far greater than the value of convenience. Consider for a moment the fact that if you had the freedom to plan your day however your wanted, your life would probable look much differently. What would be convenient for you would also change. Driving 20 minutes to the nearest grocery store would seem very inconvenient if you were also working 40+ hours a week, but if you didn't have to work, 20 minutes away might seem like a good excuse to get out and go do something. Living in an expensive area just because we want to be close to things and near stuff we like to do, means that you will be working more and giving up more of your freedom to afford that lifestyle. Changing your mindset to accept being uncomfortable...

Captain Save a Hoe, Irish Wolfhound Bar & Grill - Surprise, AZ

Irish Wolfhound is a comfortable, laid back, casual bar with live music on the weekends and a decent selection of Irish favorites on the menu. They usually have a seasonal beer of the month on special which comes with a free pint glass while supplies last. A great way to upgrade the bachelor pad glassware selection, impress the ladies and improve your beer game. They also have a cool outside patio with seating around a gas fire pit, as long as you don't mind sharing the space with smokers and the waitstaff of nearby restaurants looking to unwind after their shifts.

On this night in particular I met someone new for a first date and when I arrived, she was already a couple of beers in. The beer of the month was Guinness blonde which is a great alternative to the original meal in a pint glass Guinness. As an added bonus it came with an awesome complimentary glass straight from Guinness. At some point in the night there may have also been a shot or two, but my memory of that is a little vague as the girls were on full display and skirt was short which is about the only thing I was focused on.

Fast forward through the drinking and conversation and it was time to leave. To clarify I don't in any way condone drinking and driving and in my case only had 2 blondes in about 2 hrs, although I did have plans for a redhead in my immediate future. I wasn't completely sure how much she had drank, but it did appear that maybe it was a little too much. She was going through a messy divorce and soothing the pain with alcohol and apparently me. I told her to follow me and as we left the bar parking lot she was right behind me.

At some point unbeknownst to me, another vehicle joined our convoy and between my looking in the rear view mirror to make sure I didn't lose her and a little laziness on my part I made a right turn into the middle lane. It was at this point I became aware of my new follower when the red and blues lit up. I pulled over into a nearby neighborhood and off to the side. The officer was very friendly and professional and explained that he had been following us since we pulled out of the bar parking lot. Originally he was going to pull her over, as she was swerving slightly, but when I didn't make the right turn into the nearest lane he had no choice but to pull me over instead.

After passing a field sobriety test and answering some questions the officer apologized to me for possibly ruining my night with my new lady friend, to which I assured him was not an issue. As soon as I was back on the road with a warning, I let her know what had happened and she told me that she pulled into a nearby gas station. I pulled up as she was walking out with a six pack in hand... yeah of course. Needless to say I most likely saved her from getting a DUI and making her divorce and situation even messier. Let this be a lesson to everyone who decides to take one for the team, make sure you are sober.

If you are curious, I did hang out with her one more time and to no one's surprise she met me at Tailgater's in Litchfield Park (another casual bar and grill with surprisingly good food at great prices). Of course she was 3 sheets to the wind when I arrived, but I brought back up this time. My good friend met me there to act as buffer, however he didn't mention he was bringing along another friend of ours who happened to be 6 sheets to the wind (is that a thing). My date proceeded to make fun of my intoxicated friend and at one point even took his phone when his girlfriend called him pissed off and asking where he was. That required some explaining on his part and needless to say he was single for about a week until she forgave him. At the end of that disastrous second date my night ended with redhead crying and wallowing in self pity about her divorce, while insulting my friends and was the last time I ever spoke to her.
