The value of freedom is greater than the value of convenience... true freedom, as in the freedom to wake up when you want and be able to freely choose how you spend your time every day, not just on the weekends or your days off. Once experienced, the value of true freedom is far greater than the value of convenience. Consider for a moment the fact that if you had the freedom to plan your day however your wanted, your life would probable look much differently. What would be convenient for you would also change. Driving 20 minutes to the nearest grocery store would seem very inconvenient if you were also working 40+ hours a week, but if you didn't have to work, 20 minutes away might seem like a good excuse to get out and go do something. Living in an expensive area just because we want to be close to things and near stuff we like to do, means that you will be working more and giving up more of your freedom to afford that lifestyle. Changing your mindset to accept being uncomfortable...

Culinary Dropout - Phoenix, AZ

I visited the 7th St location in Phoenix for lunch after hearing great reviews from friends for years.  The restaurant is upscale and trendy with ample seating both indoor and outside, along with big screen TV's at the well stocked bar playing sports. The whiskey selection is top notch along with a great selection of beer on draft. I didn't get a drink, but will definitely be back when I am not on a working lunch.

I ordered the crispy shrimp caesar salad, prosciutto deviled eggs and korean style brussels sprouts. Unfortunately there was an hour wait for the deviled eggs because I arrived right after they opened at 11 am, so I got the brussels sprouts instead. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and provided great service, checking in on me at regular intervals. When my food arrived, the manager brought out the deviled eggs and told me that the chef went ahead and made them for me.

All of the food was amazing, the brussels sprouts were unique with lots of flavor, grilled and caramelized to perfection. The deviled eggs were creamy and delicious with sprinkles of prosciutto bits that made for a perfect compliment. My caesar salad had just the right amount of dressing with each piece of romaine and kale perfectly coated, but not overdone and a generous amount of fresh crispy fried shrimp. The bartender offered grilled shrimp as an option as well, if you're counting calories.

Everything was very well executed and when the bill arrived they comped me both of the appetizers which was above and beyond. Overall it was a great experience with amazing food in an inviting atmosphere. The prices are reasonable for the quality and freshness of food, but be prepared to spend around $20 for a meal for one. I highly recommend going for lunch or dinner with a group or by yourself. It is also a great place for a date with lots of drink and dining options including vegetarian choices and an outside area with activities to keep you and your date entertained. The restaurant is quiet and comfortable, which is perfect to allow for conversation and impress your date with the high end offerings at the same time.

The parking lot was clearly visible and easy to access from 7th St. with the entrance to the restaurant in the rear. I mention the entrance because it did take me a minute to find it and when I left another customer asked me where it was as well, so keep that in mind.
